I have done Telegu and Tamil films as Anita

You are now going back to your original name Anita…
It was a name given to me by my parents. It’s an awesome name and so I decided to go back to Anita. Of course, Natassha is also a lovely name.
Was did you make this sudden decision?
No, it has been on my mind for a while now.
Did you feel Natassha didn’t bring you as much fame and popularity as you would have liked it to?
That’s not true. I am really happy with that name as well. Today where I am and whatever I have achieved is with the name Natassha. But for sentimental reasons I have decided to go back to Anita.
Why did you change your name to Natassha in the first place?
Ektaa (Kapoor) believes in numerology and asked me to change my name. And I didn’t have a problem with that. But now it’s a sentimental attachment to my original name as I said. I want to live with my own name. Besides, I have done Telugu and Tamil films as Anita and I have given hits there. So people recognise me as Anita.
How difficult was it for you when you first changed your name?
Initially it was difficult because I was not used to the new name. Later there was a lot of confusion because I did movies in south as Anita and in Bollywood as Natassha. I would get confused while signing autographs. People are confused and often ask me if I’m Anita or Natassha.
Will Ektaa’s production house be okay if you revert to Anita?
Yes, they are absolutely fine with that. hyderabadtimes@indiatimes.com
