100+ new Anita pictures from Kyunki…uploaded

We are less behind in pictures than videos. I realize that none of the Anita videos since she re-entered Kyunki have been uploaded but do know that they have been recorded and kept safely till I find more time to upload them (painful process). Anyway, enjoy the screencaps we have posted in the meantime. Things would be less hectic after April.

From soaps to movies – Anita Hassanandani has come a long way

BALANCING FILMS & TV
From soaps to movies Anita Hassanandani has come a long way
By Seema Sharma

Chandigarh: The hallmarks of the glamour world include looking one’s best, wearing a constant smile, posing confidently for the cameras and carrying oneself with poise. TV and film actress Anita Hassanandani displayed these qualities in abundance when she visited a retail exhibition at Hotel Shivalik View, Sector -17 on Saturday. Posing with mannequins and holding garments, she tried to be as natural as possible with her plastic smiles for the photographers. Walking upright in stiletto heels in her slim frame, she exuded oomph and confidence. “I continue to be a bit reserved, simple and friendly girl who loves watching mushy movies and binging on chocolates and fancy food.”
Women like her or Smriti Irani have remained a staple in Balaji Telefilms’ soaps. Anita made a foray into TV serials with Balaji’s ‘Kabhi Sautan Kabhi Saheli’. Then came ‘Kavyanjali’ and now she features in ‘Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi’. She also acted in a horror film, ‘Kuchh To Hai,’ in 2003, then ‘Krishan Cottage’ in 2004 and, later, in ‘Koi Aap Sa’ produced by Balaji. “Balaji is like a family to me and Shobha Kapoor is like my mother – I enjoy a close association with them. Today whatever I am is because of Balaji,” she says.
With 15 Telugu movies in her kitty as well as her latest release, ‘Dus Kahaniyan,’ Anita does not mind juggling roles between TV and cinema. “I started my career with TV and then began acting in movies – I enjoy working in both. With so many TV channels the door has opened wide for new talent that aims at making it big in showbiz. But yes, I find it more relaxing to act in movies. In TV serials one often has to slog for 10 to 15 hours a day.” She says given a chance she would like to work in serious ‘offbeat’ films such as ‘Dor’, directed by Nagesh Kukunoor.

I like take-home to-mamma guys: Anita Hassanandani

Q-Would your man be hip or the take-home-to-mamma types?
A-Definitely the second option, take-home-to-mamma kinds.

Q-Whom would you like to get stranded with on a deserted island?
A- Matthew McConaughey.

Q-What are the turn-on and turns-offs in a man?
A-Bad odor is a definite turn off and turn on would be his intelligence and ability to catch anyone by his speech.

Q-What is the most important ingredient of a successful relationship?
A-Balance of understanding and trust and enough space……..

Q-Hottest cricketer who would resemble your man?
A-Though I don’t know any cricketer, personally I would name Rahul Dravid as he has good looks.

Q-What would be the most romantic song you would like to sing to your man?
A- ‘Truly, madly, deeply’ by Savage Garden.

Q-Your favorite romantic getaway
A-Goa in its off season is simply fabulous.

Q-How would you like your man to propose?
A-I would like him to surprise me with a ring, take me for a long drive to a romantic place where only our hearts will speak.

Q-Would you ever go out on a blind date?
A-Never, will I go!

Q-Do you believe in one-night-stand or does commitment matter to you?
A-Obviously, I look forward to commitment from the man.

Q-Your first crush ….
A-When I was in sixth class, there was a friend in my building who was the apple of my eye.

Q-What if your date spikes your drink at a party?
A-I think I will kill him when I will come back to my senses.

Q-Your take on the institution of marriage.
A-It’s important, but only when you find the right guy, with whom you are ready to spend your entire life.

Q-Best dressed male TV star?
A-It has to be Rohit Roy..

Q-Arranged or Love marriage
A- Love marriage.

Q-How would you react, if you found your guy ogling other girls?
A-In that case I will ogle other guys too (jokingly). But jokes apart, I think as long as he is not doing it behind my back, I am okay with it because the fact is you can’t really stop guys checking out other girls. So I will be cool if he would do it in front of me.

Q- Your kind of man?
A-Given a chance to date a historical character.

Q-who would he be and why?
A-Well Shah Jahan, because he loved his wife so much that he built Taj Mahal for her. I guess the quality would be the ability to stand on roof-tops and declare his love for me and that will keep other women away from him.

Q-What would you do if your man turned out to be bisexual?
A-In that case, I will dump him and let him be. Sakshi Tiwari

Ekta Kapoor’s Maha-Casting – Anita as Draupadi?

Ekta Kapoor’s Mahabharat is all set to unveil the biggest of actors of small screen donning the most talked about characters in the mythological magnum opus. If sources are to be believed, most of the loyal actors of Balaji Telefilms will be featured in the show.

A mythological as big as Mahabharat, is bound to be a big budget project and Ekta is not leaving any stone unturned to make it a mega-success. Ekta’s Mahabharat will be competing with another mythological- Sagar Arts’ Ramayan – on a rival channel. So, to give it the initial push, Ekta wants to rope in all her big and loyal actors. Here’s the introductory blueprint of the larger-than-life epic.

Our source from the industry says, “The process of approaching actors is a well thought out one. Hiten Tejwani whose character Karan in Kyunki… is similar to that of Karn in the epic. Aman Verma is chosen to essay the role of Yudhishthir. Chetan Hansraj for his good physique, height and baritone voice will be playing Bheem.

For Arjun’s role, Ekta has approached Shabbir Ahluwalia, because of his growing popularity. While Ram Kapoor is approached to play Dhritarashtra, the blind king and father of the Kauravs, who would be better than Akashdeep Sehgal to portray the menacing Duryodhan! Naman Shaw will be essaying the role of Abhimanyu.”

A well-placed source from the production house says, “Sakshi Tanwar, who’s been portraying the iconic character of Parvati Bhabi, has been approached for the role of Kunti. Ekta’s blue-eyed girl Anita will get into the robes of Draupadi. However, Gauri is also considered for the role of Draupadi. It is yet to be seen who wins the race.”

If all goes well, all the actors of Balaji will be featured in Mahabharat. However, the hunt for the most important characters of Lord Krishna and Bhishm Pitamah, is still on.
